- Description
The UTA Depot District Clean Fuels Tech Center is a state-of-the-art, LEED Certified maintenance and fueling facility that enabled consolidation of resources for fueling/charging, washing, and maintaining buses as well as space for 150 buses with expandable capacity to store over 250. The project included a new bus maintenance facility, wash building, and bus fleet parking. Scope of work required demolition of exiting site structures, parking area expansion and improvements, addition of diesel fueling tanks and supporting facilities to the existing bus fueling building, construction of bus canopies with solar panels, required utilities, generators, and site work.
As CM/GC, Big-D Construction provided pre-construction services, construction services, and commissioning for the phased construction of the 119,000-sf Maintenance-Operations-Administration facility and the 5,100-sf bus wash building. Minimizing disturbances to ongoing operations was crucial and Big-D worked closely with the design team in the early phases of the project to perform constructability reviews of the drawings and contribute during value engineering sessions.
