- DescriptionThe Tucson Arizona Temple was constructed on a 7-acre site in the Catalina Foothills. The two-story, 39,000-sf temple features a Mission-style design similar to the temple in Tijuana, Mexico. The temple features a cupola with a peak of about 27 feet above the base and platform. The dome-shaped cupola resembles the famous dome that crowns the Florence Cathedral in Italy. Big-D utilized BIM technology to create 3D models of the temple prior to construction. The Tucson Arizona Temple was the sixth temple constructed in Arizona.
