Honorable Mention - Tilt-Up Over $5 Million, ABC Utah Chapter
Project Description
The industrial market continues to grow in the Salt Lake Valley as a record number of projects were completed in 2017 and 2018. Growth in this market was primarily driven by large warehouse and distribution facilities including the $20.7 million Interstate-215 Commerce Center.
The project consisted of the construction of two concrete tilt-up warehouses for Hamilton Partners. The buildings were constructed for future tenant improvements on the west side of Salt Lake City. Building “A” is approximately 100,760 square-feet and Building “B” is approximately 371,600 square-feet (cumulative total is 472,362 sq ft).
Each building consists of 6” slab-on-grade with varying thickness of concrete tilt-up panels. The project also includes aluminum storefronts and clerestory windows. Each building also features the following:
- Overhead doors
- Loading dock equipment
- ESFR fire protection
- Open-web roof structure
- TPO membrane roofing
As with many warehouse projects, Big-D self-performed all concrete work on this project. Scope of work also included site improvements, utilities, and landscaping.
The project took 13 months to complete.
