Gunnison Valley Hospital is a small rural healthcare facility that was originally built in the 1940s. Big-D completed a much-needed renovation and addition which expanded the existing hospital by 10,600-sf. The two-story addition created space for new operating rooms, offices, sterile supply storage, decontamination room, sleeping area, locker room, doctors lounge, break room, soil holding, and secure access rooms. This addition expanded the surgery capacity, allowing the hospital to perform regular orthopedic surgery procedures. The renovation scope work included selective remodeling of existing rooms in the hospital. The project was phased to complete construction of the addition prior to beginning remodel work inside the existing building.

The University of Utah Health network provides health services across the State of Utah. Its main location at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City provides a number of services and access to some of the best physicians and researchers in the nation. As the population of Utah continues to grow, so does the need for healthcare. To accommodate the growing need, the U of U Health and Big-D Construction built a new 5-story health clinic in the community of Sugar House.
The new medical office building offers patient’s world-class services including family medicine, internal medicine, cardiac care, and women’s services.
