WSU North Endzone Won 2019 Most Outstanding Sports / Recreation Project

The Barbara and Rory Youngberg Football Center at Weber State University won the Utah Construction & Design Magazine 2019 Most Outstanding Sports/Recreation Project. Here is a clip from the magazine about our company and Rob Moore’s quote:The project was built by Salt Lake-based Big-D Construction, a firm whose roots are based in Ogden. Big-D CEO Rob Moore was effusive in his praise for the project team and the spirit of collaboration between designers and contractors alike. He was especially proud of the many subcontractors on the team who chipped in to help Big-D raise $600,000 for WSU athletics. “The subcontractor participation was outstanding,” said Moore, adding that it was “a special project for me personally, Oct 19 | UTAH CONSTRUCTION & DESIGN | 47 Photo by Alan Blakeley Architectural Photography 48 | UTAH CONSTRUCTION & DESIGN | Oct 19 being a Weber County boy.” He said most of the specialty craftworkers were from the Weber area as well, and we asked them if they would be willing to donate to the Weber State football team. We raised $600,000 and I’m proud of that. That doesn’t happen every day. “It’s exciting to be a part of a project with such an amazing team,” Moore added. “When you think about the design and construction…what it takes to put a project like this together…it’s just like a football team. Everybody’s got their position and something they have to do very well. They have to practice it. This team sat down with coaches time and time to ascertain the vision. They were able to take that information and that vision and create a space that is so spectacular.”Congratulations to everyone who worked on this project! Go Wildcats!
