Despite recent snow storms, it was standing room only for the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Salt Lake County Public Health Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. For decades, the Salt Lake County Health Department has provided vital health services as part of its mission of promoting and protecting community and environmental health.
The new center was constructed on the same site as the existing Public Health Center. The new 50,000 square-foot facility houses a number of community services including the following:
- Immunizations
- Infectious Disease Prevention
- Vital Records
- Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
- Epidemiology
The building was designed to reduce its carbon footprint with sustainable features including ample day-lighting and high-performing mechanical system.
