Live, walk, dine, and shop. That’s the idea behind Washington Square, two 21-story residential towers located in downtown Bellevue, Washington.

Project Description

LIVE, WALK, DINE, and SHOP. That’s the core concept behind Washington Square, two 21-story residential towers located in downtown Bellevue, Washington. The buildings alone consume 3.5 acres, and Big-D Construction performed several types of construction during this particular project.

We constructed the two towers atop a five-level, 757-stall, below-grade, cast-in-place concrete parking structure. The parking structure supports approximately 18,000 square feet of retail space and two 21-story residential towers. The residential areas include 209 units in the west tower and 171 units in the east tower, and related site amenities and landscaping. Each unit has elegant and practical interiors from hardwood flooring imported from Finland to gas fireplaces with limestone hearths. The kitchens feature solid granite countertops, tile granite backsplashes, and European or Traditional-style solid wood cabinets. Floorplans include the City Suites, the Platinum Sky Suites, and the Platinum Penthouse Suites.

The two buildings involve complex design and access features. Condominiums, townhouses, and flats are accessible from the exterior and public areas. Private elevators provide access to exclusive areas. Large common and lobby areas are located on each floor of the tower outside of the condominium entrances, and spacious amenities rooms are located on the thirteenth floor of each tower. Residents get a taste of luxury with the number of amenities including an owner’s lounge, spa and massage rooms, fitness center, and a convenient dog park.

Big-D performed extensive work on the site, which features upscale landscaping (with planters and site amenities) and a large water feature with flowing streams, benches, statues, and railings. Stamped, colored concrete sidewalks complete the picture. Big-D’s large-scale construction experience within a highly unionized metropolitan environment was essential for the success of this project.
