Sysco stands behind its mission of delivering exceptional products and services throughout the Bay area and beyond.
The roots of Sysco can be traced back to the 1930s, when Alvin Langfield opened a frozen food distributor in San Francisco. Today, Sysco is the global leader in selling, marketing and distributing food products to restaurants, healthcare, hotels and other customers who prepare meals away from home. The company now operates 196 distribution facilities serving approximately 425,000 customers. In 2015, Sysco posted $48 billion in earnings for Fiscal Year 2015.
Sysco stands behind its mission of delivering exceptional products and services throughout the Bay area and beyond. To help Sysco continue to deliver exceptional products and services, Big-D Construction was contracted to perform renovations to Sysco’s distribution headquarters in San Francisco. The project included the conversion of an existing dry warehouse area to a cooler box. This phase of the project included the installation of insulated metal panels to the structure; replacing the roof, as well as removing skylights and adding insulation; adding new refrigeration equipment; improvements to the electrical work.
The second part of the project involved making modifications to the existing cooler area. Big-D crews added new cooler rooms, reconfigured lighting layouts, and installed additional refrigeration equipment. The project took just 3 months and was completed in 2014.
