Project Description

As an international dairy processing leader, Idaho Milk Products required a facility where they could process, package, and ship milk derivatives to locations around the world. The result of working with Big-D Construction is an immense 220,000-square-foot facility that can now process over three million pounds of milk per day. The state-of-the-art manufacturing plant is certified by both the NSF and the USDA.

Constructed of tilt-up concrete, steel framing, and insulated metal panel skin, this facility contains not only the processing and receiving areas, but also warehouse space and an administrative support facility. Interior finishes include office finishes, dairy tile, insulated metal panel ceilings, and walls in process areas; sealed concrete walls and galvanized structural steel in the dryer towers; and epoxy-coated steel in other wet process areas. It’s not all science, though—the Idaho Milk Products facility is surrounded by pastoral agricultural vistas, stunning mountain ranges, and the scenic Snake River Canyon.
