Project Description
Intermountain Healthcare’s Sevier Valley Hospital serves the populations of three Utah rural counties: Sevier, Wayne, and Paiute. Intermountain Healthcare recognized the growing need of the health services provided by the medical facility and moved forward with plans to remodel and expand the hospital. Big-D Construction was hired to complete the first phase of the expansion. That phase included a new 45,226 square foot addition that currently houses medical offices, administrations offices, and outpatient services.
The second phase included an addition and refurbishment of the hospital’s emergency room, a parking area, an accessory building, and a Women’s Center. The accessory building is a stand-alone building for the facility maintenance crew. The building features a two-bay garage and storage and office space. The building is approximately 2,100 square feet.
Big-D crews constructed the Emergency Department and Women’s Center simultaneously. Once complete, the emergency room will have four treatment rooms, three observation rooms, two trauma rooms, and a decontamination facility. The Women’s Center features new labor and delivery rooms and each room has a jetted tub. Crews also constructed a new waiting room and medical offices in the Women’s Center. Each department is approximately 3,600 square feet.
Big-D added additional parking just north of the Sevier Valley Hospital. The new parking area features 64 parking stalls for patients and visitors.
