Project Description
Due to the redevelopment of the Salt Lake City International Airport, FedEx relocated from the space they were previously in at the airport. FedEx also consolidated operations from two other locations into the new building. Big-D Construction was hired as a design-build partner to create a faculty that would duplicate FedEx’s nation-wide package and sorting layout.
With the utilization of highly technical and specialized sorting machinery, the new FedEx airport facility was constructed free of interior columns. A maintenance shop for repair of machinery transportation vehicles and airplanes, along with offices, is also included within the open facility. Big-D crews self-performed all of the concrete work on this 70,908 a concrete tilt-up structure located in the North Cargo Area of the Salt Lake International Airport.
