Project Description

The state-of-the-art facility has several classrooms for pre-deployment and mobility training, large briefing rooms, passenger holding areas, passenger screening areas, a cutting-edge control center, combined office areas, and mechanized material handling systems for baggage and cargo.

Ellsworth is showcasing the future of deployment facilities with this center, which has the most up-to-date, state-of-the-art communication systems, command and control elements, and cargo processing equipment available. The facility’s technologies include x-ray machines, metal detectors, conveyor systems, advanced security systems. An automated cargo manifesting system in the cargo bay records data by taking pictures of cargo, then calculating the measurements, axle weights, and center of balance to achieve the most efficient loads.

The Ellsworth facility is furnished with a modern touch, presenting a professional and sophisticated atmosphere for troops during deployment operations, as well as an attractive public appearance for the media and families welcoming troops home from tour. The sustainable features implemented earned the project a LEED Silver certification through the United States Green Building Council.
