Project Description

Big-D Construction was selected once again to build a new 300,000-square-foot concrete tilt‐up warehouse located in the Business Depot Ogden (BDO). The new facility is comprised of a 6-inch slab-on-grade, 9 ¼-inch tilt‐up wall panels, open‐web roof structure and a TPO roofing membrane. The project includes skylights, aluminum storefronts, painted exterior tilt panels and overhead doors and loading dock equipment. The mechanical system consists of ESFR fire protection, roof drains, under slab drainage/waste/ventilation (DWV), water, gas piping, gas fired unit heaters, circulation fans, rooftop units, and a 3,000 amp electrical service. The site improvements include grading, asphalt paving, site concrete and landscape.

Construction on the initial warehouse & distribution facility concluded in 2015. Shortly after construction was completed, Big-D crews began work on the expansion phase of the project. The 180,000 square-foot concrete tilt-up building expansion included steel columns, open web joists and girders, metal decking, buckling restrained braced (BRB) face frames, expansion joint with a Firestone TPO membrane roof. Additional dock doors were added to the building as well.

Along with that we performed site improvements which included a storm drain system, utilities, asphalt paving, and landscaping with sprinklers. All windows, doors and store front windows include a 2,000 amp electrical service. The expansion took just 6 months to complete.
