Located in what is quickly becoming one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Salt Lake City, Utah, the 9th and 9th Business District is a hip neighborhood filled with a collection unique boutique shops, restaurants and desirable homes. In 2017, Big-D Construction crews set to work demolishing a beauty supply store built in 1940 to make way for a new, 48,000 square-foot mixed-use multifamily project in this up-and-coming community.
Originally dubbed the 9th and 9th Apartments, Nexus on 9th is a mixed-use, multifamily project which stands three stories in the heart of the 9th and 9th District. The ground level features three retail spaces, a common area for apartment residents, and a 24-stall, one-level below-grade parking podium. The second and third floors feature a combination of 28 1-and 2-bedroom high-end apartment units. The units include balconies or rooftop patios to allow residents and guests take in the stunning views of the mountains. The apartment building also features a main level common area amenity spaces including a fitness facility, bike storage, private dining and gathering space.
The design team incorporated light color metal panels with contrasting warm natural wood to bring a modern flare to the exterior. The windows were strategically installed to provide an abundance of natural light in each unit.
