Sysco believes that building customer relationships requires time, effort and sincerity. Big-D is proud to have built a relationship with Sysco based upon those very principles.

Project Description

When Sysco Food Corporation needed to update its main warehouse facility in California, the company had a long list of needs that Big-D Construction was able to fulfill. Sysco Food Corporation is the largest supplier of processed foods in the country, so a warehouse is not just a place to put products—it’s an integral part of the supply process.

The Sysco Food Corporation Sacramento distribution center in Pleasant Grove sits minutes away from the Sacramento airport. The busy facility needed to maintain full operation during the expansion and remodel, so Big-D had to coordinate carefully with the center’s managers.

Because Sysco handles so many different types of food products, the Sacramento center has several different temperature-specific storage zones. This project included the expansion of the freezer warehouse, the ice cream room, the cooler warehouse, the refrigerated cold dock, the dry warehouse, and the dry dock. It also included remodeling of the existing dry dock, dry warehouse, and cooler. Finally, Big-D crews also expanded and remodeled the truck parking area and performed site work.
