Project Description

The parking structure at St. Mark’s Hospital included the design and construction of a 620-stall, four-story, on-grade parking structure. The structure has many features that add to the comfort and safety of hospital visitors, including two elevators and two sets of outboard, perforated metal tread stairs. Slabs were post-tensioned with DCI additive in all deck slabs. This concrete additive helps protect the rebar, preserving the structure from corrosion. Other features include a dry standpipe sprinkler system, security gates on the third floor, a 100-gallon dewatering pump, and metal-halide lighting. Big-D performed all of the construction on the structure without interrupting hospital operations.
