Project Description

The IRS Dossier Building consists of two primary areas connected by a loading dock: a 27,000-square-foot administrative office area at the front of the building with a 36,000-square-foot high bay storage area including a two-level file storage racking at the back.

A central courtyard invites natural light into several spaces including office areas, the conference room and large, open lobby. All office areas have access to daylight and high clerestory windows in the warehouse space enhance the working environment by providing natural daylight to occupants. Open office space has access to direct views outside, unobstructed by interior partitions. Occupants enjoy views of the low water-use native landscape around the building as well as distant views to the north and east mountain ranges of the Wasatch Front.

Incorporating several sustainable features helped to surpassed its original goal of Silver and received LEED Gold certification. All interior finishes provide a healthy and inviting office environment. Low emitting materials including paint, adhesives and sealants were used throughout. Additional features include motion sensor activated lighting which is on a timer and shuts off after a period of inactivity, shelving recycled from an IRS center in Philadelphia which consisted of a $1.2 million cost savings and low-water-use plumbing.
