This project included complete demolition, removal and reconstruction of the pavement, street, curbs, gutters, walks and landscaping on two blocks of Grant Avenue from the intersection of 20th Street to 22nd Street in Ogden, Utah. The reconstruction changed the street from a four lane road to a “Promenade” with one lane of automobile traffic in each direction and two bicycle lanes (one each direction). The auto and bike lines are separated by landscape planter islands. Additionally, the intersection of Kiesel Avenue and 22nd Street was changed from asphalt concrete paving to decorative Portland cement concrete with new crosswalks added at mid-block from the Junction commercial development to the Ogden Temple block. The City of Ogden was responsible to relocate natural gas mains, high-voltage power lines and water utilities.
