Project Description

Quail Hollow LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dairy Farmers of America, called on Big-D Construction to help build its new facility that processes whole milk in to dry milk. The facility is expected to process up to 2 million pounds of milk per day, or 730 million pounds annually, into whole milk powder for worldwide distribution. This 140,000 square-foot facility will become the only whole milk drying plant in the United States.

The main priority to operations in this facility is cleanliness. Workers must wear special suits to keep the products and operations hygienic. Big-D helped meet this challenge by building a truck bay that allows truck drivers, who frequently carry contaminants from dairy farms on their clothing, to deliver milk without entering the facility itself.

Big-D had about 200 employees working on the facility at once, presenting a logistical challenge. We managed that large work force without creating delays or inconveniences for our client.
