Project Description

The Brigham Young University Nursing Learning Center (NLC) is a welcoming place for BYU nursing students to learn the art and science of nursing. It is home to a branch of the Harold B. Lee Library with nursing resources, a study area for nursing students only, computers with access to nursing instructional programs and labs where students are taught skills and participate in patient care simulations.

When the NLC needed to be expanded and updated, BYU hired Big-D Construction to perform the 11,700-square-foot extension and renovation. The new space features six full-simulation experience rooms, four debriefing rooms, a 9-bed skill lab, a 4-bed walk-in lab, 2 wet/dry lab areas and an expanded ability to video record interactions with manikins to improve medical procedures.
