Project Description

Scott USA has been manufacturing skiing and outdoor sports equipment since 1958, when the company revolutionized skiing with the invention of the first tapered aluminum ski pole. Since then Scott has expanded into products and materials for mountain biking and motocross as well as skiing. When Scott USA wanted a new distribution facility at the Boyer Company’s Business Depot Ogden (BDO), Boyer called on Big-D Construction to provide design-build services.

Big-D constructed a 406,250-square foot building of non-insulated, tilt-up concrete with conventional steel framing systems for columns, girders, joists, and steel deck. It includes bays spaced at 50 feet by 50 feet throughout the building and a mezzanine for future tenant offices. For 286,250 square feet of the building space, Big-D performed tenant improvements to make the facility ready for Scott to move in and begin operations; the remaining 120,000 square feet of shell is available for future expansion. The facility doubled the size of the company’s previous operations building in Clearfield, Utah.
