“They kept me involved, listened to my concerns, as well as the concerns of the rest of the team … I have been amazed at how well they all worked together as a team.”

Intermountain Healthcare is renovating many areas of its community Alta View Hospital campus in Sandy, Utah. Last fall, the hospital expanded and renovated its Emergency Department to provide faster, more efficient service. The most dramatic addition, however, is the new surgical center at the north end of the campus. The Alta View Specialty Center houses state-of-the-art facilities inside an elegant new building.
The front entrance of the 58,671-square-foot building opens onto a light-filled two-story atrium. The building’s structure is steel, and its facade uses glass, brick veneer, and metal panels.
Behind the beautiful exterior, the new Intermountain Healthcare facility houses four operating rooms, several endoscopy suites, six PACU bays, 12 recovery rooms, six pre-op rooms, and 32 exam suites (Group I occupancies). The finished building includes office space for approximately 25 physicians (Group B occupancies).
The spacious, cutting-edge facility is home to nearly a dozen specialists. Surgical specialties within this new facility include the following:
- Ears, nose and throat
- Oral/dental procedures
- Plastics/cosmetic surgery
- General surgery
