The city of Minneapolis is growing and growing fast. As of 2016, Minneapolis is the largest city in the state of Minnesota. As more people move to Minneapolis, there is more of a demand for the development and construction of apartments and condominium communities.
In 2015, plans were approved for a 42-unit apartment building along Girard Avenue and the Midtown Greenway. Big-D’s office in Minneapolis was selected to construction the new building. 2817 Girard Apartments combined three parcels of land next to an existing Apartment complex. Before crews could begin constructing the new 4-level complex, they had to demolish century-old abandoned homes.
The residential complex features townhouse, studio, one and two bedroom units. A 15,400 square foot underground parking garage is also available for residents and guests. The building is outlined with brick and stone. Faux turf and white cedar decking was incorporated with dividers, providing occupants with privacy and comfort. Another feature for residents is a stunning roof terrace that includes a natural gas fireplace, pergola, a bar and lounge.
Residents have easy access to the Midtown Greenway. The Midtown Greenway is a 5.5-mile-long former railroad corridor with walking and biking trails. The Greenway connects with paths around the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes.
